# Plans and billing

> What FacePing costs, the free pilot, and how people are counted each month.

You pay for each person stored with FacePing in a month. Checks, devices and check-in lists are unlimited on every paid plan.

Prices exclude VAT. Accounts in the EU and US are billed in euros and dollars (Pay as you go is 3.5c or 4c per person per month); once you're live, the dashboard's Billing page shows your prices (until then, see [pricing on faceping.ai](https://faceping.ai/#pricing)).

## How people are counted

- A person counts in a billing month if their face is **still stored at the end of the month**, or if they were **enrolled and deleted within it**.
- Nobody counts twice in a month. Re-enrolling the same `personId` on the same list replaces the face and is still one person.
- A one-day event on 28 October, whose faces are deleted on 7 November (the list's retention), counts each person once, in October.
- A member enrolled for a year counts once every month they're enrolled.
- Checks, devices and failed attempts never count.

[**Dashboard → Billing**](https://app.faceping.ai/billing) shows this month's people so far (stored now, plus anyone enrolled and deleted this month) and an estimate. Your billing month runs from your plan's start date.

## The free pilot

Approval starts a free 30-day pilot: one check-in list and up to 500 people enrolled during the pilot (counted up, never down). When it ends, or when you reach a limit, choose a plan in [**Dashboard → Billing**](https://app.faceping.ai/billing) to carry on; until then the API answers calls that need more with `402`.
